Zamárdi is one of the most popular holiday resorts along the shores of Lake Balaton and the biggest lake in Central-Europe.
Our settlement can be found on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, between Siófok and Balatonföldvár. It is easily accessible both on road and by rail. It has a 10-kilometre-long lakeside area, which is unique among the holiday resorts around the lake.

Its shallow water near the shore warms up quickly, so it is a real paradise for families with young children. Its 3-kilometre-long well-kept free public beach and the free parking facilities in the whole territory of the settlement, which are considered as really unique services on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, make it very comfortable.
The restaurants and pizza parlours on the shore offer delicious Hungarian and international dishes for guests. In addition, you can find playgrounds, changing-cubicles, sanitary facilities and various sports fields here.
The most complete and beautiful view on the Tihany peninsula and the Abbey can be enjoyed from the free public beach.
The 'golden bridge' created by the sunset on the slightly rippling surface of the water offers unforgettable experience for visitors on the shore.
Leaving the holiday area to the south, on the hill-top you can find a district that has preserved its village-like atmosphere. Here both adults and children can make themselves familiar with domestic animals. Leaving the village, you can see a whole range of hills covered in vineyards and woods, surrounding the settlement from the south and the southwest, offering lots of outing opportunities.
The most beautiful view unfolds from the 'Kőhegy' (Mt. Stone) that is planted with grapevine. In nice weather people coming here can take delight in the sight of the whole lake and the mountain range of the northern shore.

Location

Hotel Família is situated in Zamárdi, 300 m away from the shore, at the foot of the hills of Somogy, near motorway M7, along main road no. 70, 7 km from Siófok.

How to get here

- By car - from the direction of Budapest on motorway M7 which ends in Zamárdi (Budapest - Zamárdi 130 km)
- By train - the southern railway line runs through Zamárdi, as many as three railway stations of which belong to Zamárdi (Zamárdi, Zamárdi-felső, Balatonszéplak-alsó).
(International trains arriving from the direction of Budapest also stop in Zamárdi.)
- There are a number of stops in the village from where you can get on regular coach lines (Bp-Népliget - Siófok - Zamárdi)
- The ferry that connects the northern and the souther shores of Lake Balaton (Szántód - Tihany) runs near the settlement. The airport of Siófok-Kiliti, which welcomes small planes, can be found only 10 km, while the airport of Sármellék 60 km and the airport of Budapest-Ferihegy only 120 km away.
